DVB ASI is a very common video transport protocol in the digital video broadcast industry. Many TV studios have DS3 links to the broadcast headend. It is possible to use this link to carry a DVB-ASI stream over the DS3 line at up to 44Mbps. It can carry multiple program streams in either MPEG2 or MPEG4 format. Often it is necessary to transport these ASI Transport Streams from a studio to a broadcast head end. It is possible to transport the ASI over DS3 connections.
