With a sleek tablet-like design, the HCS-8338 Series by TAIDEN is a new generation paperless multimedia conference system that is packed with enhanced capabilities, heightened performance and promises to deliver an outstanding user experience.

Multimedia conference systems are all-in-one units including most of the tools required in meeting environments: a microphone and speaker for superior audio intelligibility, a built-in touch-screen to review meeting documents, videos and other materials as well as all traditional features of conference systems such as electronic voting, security identification, digital audio recording and language interpretation. The technology was pioneered by TAIDEN in 2011.

The newly released HCS-8338 multimedia terminal now has a 10” capacitive touch panel supporting multi-touch, the screen resolution has been raised to 1280 x 800 and the built-in camera was brought to 5 megapixels. Other improvements include Internet access, direct file upload via USB port on the unit, contactless IC card sign-in, a fingerprint reader and a dual channel selector allowing the unit to be shared between two users.

With a new series of video encoders released alongside, high-quality video resolution is now available on the multimedia terminals. The ability to encode any video source for display on the unit allows to overcome line-of-sight issues experienced in some venues. This model also offers a unique and outstanding feature: the built-in E Ink nameplate on the back of the multimedia terminal used to help identify meeting attendees. These capabilities are of much interest to council chambers, international conference centers and in auditoriums at the podium position.
